018. I prefer talking to people face-to-face
I realise that I’m being very old-fashioned by saying this, but nothing’s better than a good chat with somebody.

I believe that everybody should have the same chances and opportunities in life no matter what their age, gender, race, religion, sexuality, etc.
Growing up in Florida probably contributed to my love of palm trees. They feel like home and warmth.
I love the sound of their leaves swaying in the slight breeze outside my window in the night. It’s the sound of Cape Coral nights for me.
I would love to have a palm tree right outside my window so it’s the thing I hear at night and it’s the first thing I see in the morning.
Someone buy me one?
I used to be really good and I went to some sort of festivals in the summer when I was in primary school.
I don’t remember how I got into country dancing. I imagine it came naturally when you were in the dance group….
I remember one summer we were in this tiny room with windows that wouldn’t open. We had to squeeze a lot of people in there and it was awful! Dancing for hours on end isn’t fun when it’s hot and stuffy!
By this, I mean that I think a lot about all sorts of things.
I had a blind best friend in primary school. When I first started at my primary school, I spoke no English, so they sat me next to Lauren because she obviously had a learning assistant. Her assistant helped me for a while, and me and Lauren became friends.
Sitting next to Lauren helped me learn Braille and she let me have a go on her Brailler a couple of times. It only had about 9 buttons, 6 of which actually write the Braille. It’s pretty simple.
I’ve not practised reading it in a long time, so I’m a little rusty. I can still read little bits and pieces when I see them in public though. I can tell the difference between numbers and letters and what-not.
That, or I had a really boy-ish upbringing. The latter is more likely, but… whatever.
Ever since I learned to read, I’ve loved it. Nothing compares to being immersed in a book. I always look for ways to escape reality.
However, I’m terrified of becoming pregnant. I’ve had several nightmares about being pregnant.
I’d like to give my child(ren) names that work in both English and German, so they don’t have to suffer their names being pronounced wrong in either language.
I’d like for them to be born in Berlin and I’d like for them to grow up there too. It’s a great city, it has lots of history and I’m proud to be a Berliner, so why shouldn’t they feel the same pride?
Also, I want them to be bilingual. It’s something that has really helped me in life, it’s a fantastic skill and it defines me. I want something so important to me to be passed onto my offspring.
I also want them to grow up listening to the same music as I did. They will love classic rock!
One final thing: if I have a boy, his middle name shall be Siegfried. It’s a name that runs in the Lange family and it kind of died with my generation, but I don’t want it to die out. It’s also a kind of tribute to my grandfather, who was called Wolfgang Siegfried.
Blisters and all!
It’s my fault. My bed used to be in front of the radiator and I used to cuddle up with my back to it. Radiators get pretty hot, especially when you touch them with your bare skin.
How could I be so stupid as to burn myself on a radiator? Well, you don’t realise that you’re badly hurt for about 5-10 seconds afterwards. By that time, it’s too late. Pain isn’t a feeling that is instant.
How could I be so stupid as to burn myself several times? Well… turns out that I don’t learn from my mistakes if it involves being warm. In case you’re wondering, yes I am currently sitting with my back to a radiator and yes, I’ve successfully given myself second degree burns this year already.
I don’t know why really. Maybe it’s because I’ve always spoken to my cat in German. Maybe it’s because my cat reacts best to what you say when its said in German. I have no idea.
I’ve tried to speak English with animals, but German’s more comfortable. I make up random cute words like “pfötis” instead of “pfoten”.
It might have something to do with the fact that many have brown eyes and dark hair as that’s my type, but there are also other contributing factors.
